# Domain Pivot on an A Record

This video demonstrates how to perform a **DNS record pivot** within the Silent Push platform, showcasing its powerful reconnaissance capabilities.

**Key Learning Points:**

- **Pivoting Capabilities:** Users can pivot on any information highlighted in blue within the DNS section, including A records, Quad A (AAAA), CNAME, NS, MX, SOA, TXT, and wildcard records.
- **Passive Active DNS (PADNS):** Silent Push uses PADNS, which **actively resolves all known DNS records every 24 hours**.
- **Data Currency:** Unlike traditional passive DNS, which relies on third-party resolvers, this active approach delivers the **most up-to-date information possible**.
- **Reverse A Record Lookups:** Selecting an IP address from an A record opens a pivot control menu. Choosing the **reverse A record lookup** option reveals all other domains associated with that specific IP address.
- **Historical Tracking:** The platform tracks and displays **“First Seen”** and **“Last Seen”** dates for every domain-IP association.

This combination of active resolution, broad pivoting options, and historical context makes Silent Push a highly effective tool for mapping domain and IP infrastructure during reconnaissance.
