Manage Users and Teams

Prev Next

Owners add people to the organization, assign roles, and group users into teams. An organization can have up to 100 teams. By default, a user can belong to only one team.

Manage users

Owners can add users individually or in bulk, and manage them afterward.

  • Add User — opens a form for name, email, address, job title, role, and an optional API request allocation. A visual presentation shows how API requests are currently spread across users.

  • Add Bulk Users — upload a CSV (using the provided template) or add users manually, up to 100 at a time. API requests can be spread evenly across the batch.

  • Edit User — update a user's details, role, or API allocation at any time.

  • Move User — reassign a user to a different team. Because the user's created data belongs to a team, moving them requires choosing who inherits ownership of that data.

  • Delete User — soft-deletes the user. If they created data, ownership must be transferred to another user first.

Users receive email notifications when they are invited, when their data is edited, and when they are moved to a new team.

What happens when a user leaves the organization

  • If the departing user belonged to a team, an Owner can choose which user from the team, plus organization Owners, will inherit all of their assets and created entities.

  • If the departing user did not belong to any team, an Owner can transfer ownership to the organization's Owners.

Manage teams

Creating or editing a team involves:

  • Team Name — a required, unique identifier for the team.

  • Manager — chosen from users who are not already managing another team. An Owner can also assign themselves temporarily.

  • Members — multi-select of users not already part of another team.

  • Permissions — toggled per module and per feature within each module, limited to what the organization's contract allows.

Team members receive an email when you add them. The email notes that they cannot belong to more than one team at a time and will gain access to whatever the team is permitted to use.

Note

A Manager does not need to be on the team, but it is recommended. Managers can edit team metadata for the team they lead. Only Owners can create, fully edit, or delete teams.
