Pivot Control is the panel that opens when you click an indicator. Use it to inspect that value, run a related search, or save it to a feed without leaving the page you are on.
Click a domain, IP, URL, or other supported field anywhere in the platform. The panel opens with that indicator already selected. You do not need to copy the value or start a new search from scratch.
What you can do
See the indicator, its type, and the exact field you clicked
Copy the value from the header
Open a condensed Total View, then jump to the full page if you need more detail
Start an Insight search or Live Scan
Search feeds or save the indicator to a feed
Start a Context Graph Search, including PADNS lookups
Run a Traffic Origin search for IPv4 or IPv6
Search for similar HTML when you pivot on
html_body-ssdeep
The panel shows only the tabs that apply to the indicator you clicked and the data you can access.
How it fits your workflow
Pivot Control stays on top of the page you already have open. Most searches open in a new browser tab and then close the panel so you can keep the original results in place.
Close the panel with X or by clicking outside it. Nothing in the panel is saved when it closes. Pin the panel if you want it to stay open while you click elsewhere or move to another page.
When to use it
You spotted an indicator in a table or Total View and want context before opening a full page
You want to search the same value across feeds, web data, DNS, or traffic origin
You want to save a domain or IP to a feed without leaving your current investigation
For step-by-step detail on each tab, see Advanced Pivot Control.
